Our mission

Affiliated Prosperity Services (APS) is non for profit community organization that believes in the power of cooperation, collaboration, and community. We aim to create a new paradigm for the local economy based on a cooperative model rather than pure individualism capitalism. We believe that by working together, we can achieve more than by competing against each other. We believe that by sharing resources, knowledge, and skills, we can create a more sustainable, resilient, and inclusive local economy. We believe that by empowering local people, we can foster a sense of ownership, responsibility, and pride in our communities.

Our vision

Our vision is to transform Houston into a hub of cooperative innovation and social impact. We want to create a network of local cooperatives, social enterprises, and community organizations that work together to address the challenges and opportunities of our diverse and dynamic city. We want to leverage the cultural, linguistic, and entrepreneurial assets of our Latino populations and other marginalized groups, and help them access the resources and support they need to thrive. We want to build a local economy that is fair, democratic, and resilient, and that creates value for people, not just profits.

Our team

Our strength lies in a group of people who are passionate about the really making a difference in our communities by leveraging the power of a cooperative economy. Our efforts are community-based but lead by Dr. Roberto Ruby Trevino and Dr. Alan J Richard.
