Our Projects
these are some of the types of cooperatives we are building in our community. They are all designed to discover the power of a cooperative economy. There are other cooperatives that we can help your community build including, but no limited to restaurants cooperatives, transportation cooperatives, banking cooperatives, energy cooperatives and agricultural cooperatives among others. Please contact us and let us join and growth your vision.
Construction Cooperatives
One of our members is Houston Construction Cooperative (HCC) a construction cooperative in Houston, Texas, that builds more than just structures. HCC builds dreams, communities, and futures. HCC is composed of experienced and skilled workers who have joined forces to create their own cooperative business and share the benefits of their labor. HCC offers high-quality services in single housing and multifamily construction, where families can live comfortably and securely. HCC also creates retail spaces, office space, restaurants, and other commercial buildings, where businesses can thrive and grow. HCC also participates in public infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, and other facilities that improve the quality of life in our city. HCC is committed to social and environmental responsibility, using sustainable materials and practices, and supporting local suppliers and communities. HCC is an example of how cooperatives can create economic opportunities, social impact, and democratic participation for their members and their customers.
Real Estate Investment Cooperatives
Another member of our network is Invercoop, a real estate investment cooperative in Houston, Texas, that brings together small investors to buy and manage properties and create wealth for all its members. Invercoop enables people who have been excluded from the conventional real estate market to join forces and invest in opportunities that can transform their lives. Invercoop also offers education and support on real estate investing, property management, legal issues, and financial literacy. Invercoop is not only a way to generate income and assets, but also a way to build community and solidarity among its members. Invercoop is an inspiring example of how cooperatives can democratize the real estate market and empower people to take control of their financial future.
Housing Cooperatives
Another member of our network is Housting, a housing cooperative in Houston, Texas, that provides affordable and quality housing for its members. Housting is more than just a place to live, it is a community of people who share similar values and interests, and who cooperate to buy and manage their own properties. Housting offers a variety of housing options, from cozy single-family homes to spacious apartment complexes, in different neighborhoods and locations in the city. Housting also organizes fun and enriching social and cultural activities, educational workshops, and advocacy campaigns for its members and the wider community. Housting is a wonderful example of how cooperatives can foster social cohesion and civic engagement among their members and create a sense of belonging and ownership in their living spaces.
Cooperatives in Mexico
One of our newest and most inspiring initiatives is to help create cooperatives in Mexico's poorest communities, using American donations and partnerships. We believe that cooperatives can be a powerful tool to reduce poverty, increase prosperity, and decrease migration to the USA. By supporting the creation and development of cooperatives in sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, services, and tourism, we aim to generate employment, income, and assets for marginalized populations, especially women, youth, and indigenous people. We also aim to strengthen the social fabric, the democratic participation, and the environmental sustainability of these communities. We work with local partners and experts to provide training, mentoring, financing, and technical assistance to cooperative members and leaders. We also facilitate the exchange of best practices and experiences among cooperatives across borders and regions. We are proud to be part of this cooperative movement that is transforming lives and communities in Mexico and beyond.
